Orange County CCW

Mid-2008 Sandra Hutchens was appointed by three of the five Orange County supervisors to carry out the current term of Sheriff in Orange County.

With major challenges for the Orange County Sheriff's Department, such as excessive overtime and sub-standard conditions in the county jail, she decided to make the review and revocation of legitimately issued concealed carry permits one of her top priorities.

Over 40% of the then current holders of legitimately issued CCWs  received letters of intend to revoke.

Mrs. Hutchens has failed to provide legal evidence for the mandate that she claims to have for these actions.

This grossly negligent if not reckless act of an appointed official who should have been elected is unacceptable.

Uli Gebhard has published several updates regarding this disturbing situation through the USCCA Armed American Newsletter.

At this point we would like to thank our friends at the USCCA and the readers of the articles for their support.  Hundreds of them responded and wrote to the supervisors as well as to Mrs. Hutchens on behalf of the Orange County CCW holders.

Uli Gebhard attended several of the Board of Supervisor's meetings to voice his concerns regarding pending revocations.

Mrs. Hutchens can add to her long list of failures that she did not gain the support of the supervisors who appointed her almost two years ago.

Sandra Hutchens adds insult to injury by sending invitations to her fundraiser to many of those people who previously fell victim to her restrictive CCW policy.

At the same time, one year after her appointment, she still has no significant achievements to show for.

What can you do to help?

Apparently Mrs. Hutchens operates within the boundaries of the law.

The solution lies hence within the 2010 elections.

The Solution:

Bill Hunt

Mr. Hunt is a former OCSD Lieutenant and Station Chief.  I had the honor to meet him in October of 2008 when the full scale of Mrs. Hutchens agenda began to surface.

To summarize my impression:  he is a very straightforward person with common sense, knowledge of the OCSD and lots of experience in this particular agency.  Add to that that he is pro-CCW and has the respect of the majority of the OCSD deputies....

Mr. Hunt needs our support to win the upcoming elections.  Please do what you can to support him.

SafeOC is a political action commitee (PAC)  Dedicated to bringing pro-CCW candidate Bill Hunt into office.  Please take a look at their site and support them if you can.
